Description

Parent Power Bitesize is a concise 45-minute seminar designed to introduce parents to homework habits and basic study skills. Fast paced, fun and engaging 'Parent Power Bitesize' is best delivered in conjunction with the Blast Off programme. However, it can also be delivered  as a standalone event or as part of the first year parent information evening.

Objectives

  • Introduce parents to Growth Mindset theory and neuroplasticity of the brain.
  • Help parents understand the different types of praise and in particular the impact of person and process praise on motivation.
  • Provide parents with techniques to help their children develop effective homework and study habits.
  • Present parents with up to date evidence through a selection of education 'research' nuggets.
